Pink And Grey Galah, Eolophus roseicapillus

Galahs are one of the most abundant and recognisable of the Australian parrots. They are found over most of Australia, often in large flocks in a variety of timberlands, usually near water.

Galahs usually feed in large noisy flocks, mostly on the ground, on seeds of grasses and cultivated crops, making them a pest in some areas. They will travel large distances in search of feed.

Galahs form a permanent bond with their partner, though they will take a new partner if the other one dies.

Both birds will incubate the eggs and care for the young, nesting in a tree hollow or some similar location.

Galahs are becoming more abundant around human population areas largely due to the increase of available food and water.
